A fellow woodworker of ours reached out to us with a very special request. A colleague of his, a Director at Winterthur (a Museum in Delaware), was retiring and he wanted something special made. The auditorium there was recently renovated and he was able to acquire some of the Walnut armrests from the chairs that were removed. We carefully cut through the middle of the armrest to get the largest contiguous chunk for the pen blank, as well as a diagonal grain which looks great, and shaped this piece for the retiring Director.
